The short version
Your collection stays on your device. Text and photos are sent to Google Gemini only when you ask AntiqID to analyze or answer something. Website usage is measured with Google Analytics and Mixpanel. AntiqID does not sell your information.
1. Overview
AntiqID helps you identify antiques, estimate their resale value, ask follow-up questions, and organize a personal collection. No account is required.
This policy explains what information is processed, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
2. Information you choose to provide
Photos: When you start an identification or attach a photo to Ask AI, the selected image is processed to answer your request.
Messages: Text entered in Ask AI is processed together with relevant conversation history so the assistant can reply.
Collection details: Titles, notes, albums, listing prices, and saved results you create are stored locally on your device.
Support messages: If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your email.
3. AI processing and service providers
When you explicitly request an identification or send an Ask AI message, the relevant text and optional photos are sent to Google Gemini, either directly during development or through AntiqID’s secure production proxy.
Google may process these requests under its applicable Gemini API terms and privacy commitments. AntiqID does not use your content to build advertising profiles and does not sell personal information.
Grounded answers may use Google Search to find public sources. Source links returned by the AI may lead to third-party websites with their own privacy practices.
4. Local storage
Your collection, albums, notes, settings, onboarding state, and cached identification results are stored in the app’s private storage on your device.
AntiqID does not maintain a cloud account or server-side copy of your collection. Deleting saved items or uninstalling the app removes this local information, subject to normal device backup behavior.
5. Device permissions
Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph an object.
Photo library access is used only when you choose an existing image.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings. Core browsing and saved-item features may remain available, but photo-based identification will require image access.
6. Website analytics
On this website, Google Analytics and Mixpanel collect usage information such as page views, clicks, form interactions, scroll activity, browser and device details, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring pages.
Mixpanel autocapture and session replay are enabled to help us understand how the website is used and improve it. Form values and other input content are masked by default in session recordings.
These providers may use cookies or similar browser storage. You can limit this collection through your browser’s cookie controls, tracking-protection features, or applicable provider opt-out tools.
7. Data retention and security
AntiqID’s production proxy is intended to relay AI requests and responses, not to create a permanent content archive. We do not intentionally retain request photos or chat content on our servers.
Requests are sent using encrypted HTTPS connections. No system can guarantee absolute security, so avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information in photos or messages.
8. Children
AntiqID is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate.
9. Your choices
You can choose not to submit a photo or message, revoke camera or photo permissions, clear an Ask AI conversation, edit or delete saved items, export your collection, or uninstall the app.
For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@antiquesidentifier.app.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, service providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version and effective date will always appear on this page.
